Early Labor.....just relaxing

Don't go thinking she is coming right now............Since we saw Dr. Swisher some action started happening this morning and continued all day while I was at work till about 2pm today. This action caused concern from the nurse and she asked me to come in and make sure I wasn't dilated very far nor in early labor.

RESULTS: I am in early EARLY labor. My contractions as of right now are NOT close enough together nor am I screaming at the top of my lungs in pain from contractions. Just feels like my braxton hicks are the strongest they have EVER been which is causing discomfort. They say it can take between 24-48 hours before labor 'could' start after having your membranes stripped. Let's just say he has awaken the process........but how long will it take is the question. So we are waiting patiently and taking in the moments we have right now just having us 2. I hope to remember all this after everything is over and she is out. So....I am being patient =)

We just ask for prayers to be sent up for a healthy baby and birth, whenever that is =) Much love to you all. Keep sending happy thoughts.

38 Week Update!!!!!!!

I have no picture to go with today's update. I am being lazy but I believe that is O-K for a girl like me. Steve and I went to our 38th week check up this morning. Dr. Swisher said the baby sounds great, he also said I had not progressed any with dilation. He thought he would help the process a bit and 'stripped' my membranes =) Sounds wonderful doesn't it. It felt as good as it sounds =( The nurse got to feel my death grip.

He also set a date for induction on July 8th at 7am. If she doesn't come out between now and then that will be her possbile due date =) Thank the LORD I don't have to go the full 40 weeks or longer. Yippieeee.

My last day of work is Friday and that brings a smile on my face like one you have never seen. It just seems to help wrap things up and makes it feel a little closer to time =)
Keep us in your prayers <3

Happy 35th Birthday Babe!!!!!!

So my sweetie turned 35th today!! What a joy he has been the past 4 years in my life. I am so thankful for such a loving husband. He makes me dinner, cleans the house, always put's me first when making decisions, asks me if I need anything before he sits back down..ALWAYS, tucks me in bed every night I fall asleep before he does. God saved him for me and I am so thankful he did.

I believe we do need to have a son one day so that Steve can raise him to be just like him. Treating woman with such respect, encouraging towards woman and always complimenting them. We need more men like Steve to be in this world to sweep ladies off their feet and just spoil them rotten all the time, making them feel wonderful.

He loves to get away from the everyday working life and escape to SML for some fishing. I tell him that he doesn't have to ask me every time he wants to go fishing. That is up to him, I am just thankful I don't get asked, " Can I go to the bar with my guy friends." He can go fishing anytime he wants to! =)

Gotta love the head lamp! And that wonderful smile.

Pretty blue eyes he has. I can't wait to see Ellie's blue eyes and hopefully blonde hair like her daddy. To bad mine is fake =) I was born with black hair and then I was bald for a while. He is my sunshine and I love him so very much.

update... that's all =)

UPDATE:

Had lot's and lot's of contractions last night. WOW. They were not strung close enough together but it kept me up for hours. Finally went to bed at 11 and awake at 4 this morning. Made Steve breakfast and started laundry at 6 this morning. ((Dad you should be proud I got up early)). I feel that progression was probably made last night to some degree. I felt sharp needles poking my "love handles" around through my back. My stomach was tightening and last for over a minute but the distance between them was longer than 5 minutes. WOW. Getting a little itty bitty glimpse into what the big day might be like.

37 weeks and 3 days!!!!

Just to give the family and friends an update on where Ellie and I stand. The doctor said on Wednesday that my cervix was soft and I am 50% effaced. So that is some good news....only 50% more, hopefully that won't take too long to happen. But some ladies are telling me they didn't efface until the doctor broke their water or induced their labor with drugs. So I believe this is a good thing =)

The rest of the week has been ok since our freaky accident on Tuesday. Just lot's of tiredness and trying to keep things tidy around the house in case she makes her appearance soon. Steve has been a great help b/c I just don't have any motivation to vacuum or clean the floors or empty the dishwasher. Would someone like to be my maid after the baby comes/keep me company while Steve is working =)

Hope everyone else is doing wonderful. We love each of you. Just in case you were wondering....we don't mind visitors on the 2nd day but would like to just keep it to family on the first day and to rest. I will do my best to send out a mass text when she is here. So just give us a day to relax and soak in the fact that we are parents =)

God saved us again!!!!

Yup, God did it again. Tonight after Steve and I had our baby CRP class after we were hungry. So why not head over to Towers and go for some Chipolte. We were in separate cars and after I pulled in and got out of the car I started walking and all I could hear was glass falling all around me. It sounded as if some one busted out a car window and then I felt glass cutting me and Steve grabbed me and tried to cover over me till the glass was done falling. Two of those 3 story high lamp posts that are in the parking lot BROKE and fell all down around and on me.

There was a couple who had two small children and they were only a few steps ahead of Steve, they had a 1st aid box in their car. The mom gave Steve band-aids and alcohol rubs to put on my feet, legs, arms. I just stood there crying ((b/c I was shocked)) while Steve cleaned me up and the lady went to go find Towers security to let them know what happened. There was a car that got all crazy dinged up due to the falling glass, dents here and there.

Once security arrived he URGED us to go to the ER just for liability reasons and b/c I was shook up and pregnant. Didn't want to go into labor b/c my blood pressure was crazy. He said they would take care of my doctor bills and that I needed to be checked out. Period.

While in triage I got to hear the baby's heart beat, she was moving around a lot. My blood pressure was 110/70. I was having contractions while I was there but they weren't close enough together. **heheheh, yippie** Steve and I got to have a 'trial run through' on what it will be like when we actually have to go and give birth.

Thanks God for keeping Steve out of harms way with the jeep this past weekend and not hurting another car in the meantime.
Thanks God for keeping the glass from cutting me up really bad and hurting me or the baby =)

Shew........maybe we need to stay inside for a while....HA!

Happy Birthday Georgie!!!

Steve and I went to Georgie's birthday party on Saturday!! What a wonderful party Heather and Matt threw for everyone. Steve and I had a great time especially being around so many little kids. The weather stayed breezy and the sun was hidden by the beautiful trees in the backyard. She got some wonderful presents from people who care about her so much. I have enjoyed watching this little girl turn 1. She is walking now!! =)

Ready, Set.....Give Birth!!!!!

Here are a few photos of what's going on in our living room right now. The bassinet pad and skirt cover arrived this week AND yes, I KNOW I can't have animals in the bed with the baby =) The baby changing area is full of swaddling blankets, diapers, clothes. I brought a lot of things down stairs so that I didn't have to run up and down the stairs every minute for something.

For presents we have received bibs with her name on them, clients and friends have taken time to hand quilt/quilt Ellie blankets. My friend Lindsay from work made the one that's laying on the changing table and my client, Pat Smith made the purple/white one. She also wrote a poem to Ellie on her hand quilt that made me tear up at work. Precious!!!!! I have such wonderful clients.

Father of Father's

This is my Dad, Clonnie. A wonderful father who loves unconditionally. Has such a strong heart, help's whenever he is needed, has a faith like no one I know. He is an amazing writer who can express himself on paper better than anyone
I know of. So intelligent but soft at heart.

One of the best day's of my life. Dad giving me away to a man he trusted to take care of his little girl forever. How proud I felt to have Dad by my side. I love Dad so much =)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!!

Safety First...

2009 Volkswagen Touareg Sport Utility

Due to our crazy scaryness tonight with the jeep falling apart while Steve was driving ((thank God he did not end up in a wreck)) this is a picture of my ''replace the American car'' dream "mom" car.
We will see what happens and what we can find/figure out this weekend. We all need to be safe and take care of our family and the Jeep let us down tonight. =( So it might be good-bye Jeepy Jeep.

Bump, Bump, Bump It Up!!!

This is my friend/client Jeanna Williams. When she came in for her appointment today I knew we needed to get a picture of our bellies. She is due the first week of September and is expecting a boy. His name will be Presley. Look how little she is compared to my big rump!! It's very exciting to share stories and experiences with another pregnant lady. This is me at 36 weeks!! Pray she stays in a little while longer. Just a few more weeks =) Doctor says her head is down and in the right spot and that my cervix has softened but no dilation yet. I go every Wednesday in the morning for my appointments till she arrives.

Happy Father's Day!!!

Sprout....

Sprout Organic Baby Food!!!

I ordered a recipe book by Tyler Florence to start looking over so that I will have ideas ready for when Ellie is able to eat solid/puree food. I also researched places that carry this product in their stores. Wal-Mart on 220 is the only place other than Christensburg. This is something I believe in my heart I will do for our little girl. I know that it takes time and patience but I can use my days off to puree and freeze for the week. So encouragement to make healthy food is appreciated. Mother and Mother-in-law, Aunties and Uncle's I will be sure to supply you with frozen ice cube bags full of food choices. These past months have been hard on my body to go from eating healthy, good food to crap! So I am ready to get back on the wagon and lose this weight upon her arrival. To keep our 'entire' family healthy and moving.

You can check out the web page: http://sproutbabyfood.com/babyfood.php

Any thoughts you have to share with me?? Oh, how about suggestions on a baby puree?? I have been looking online, registered for one, reading reviews etc. I have Connie's but it's really big and has a lot of pieces to put together. We need something to not take up too much counter space nor too many pieces and is dishwasher safe =)

To love and to Cherish....

Thanks to my husband he captured my awakening. I did not mind putting it on my blog to show everyone that not anyone can just roll out of bed looking decent. Eating my big bowl of raisin brain, too tired to take my makeup off before bed. Wow, this is a wonderful picture.

Wednesday's gloom.

Yuck! So this is how my day went. I did NOT get much sleep at all last night. I had 2 great hours sleeping in our bed starting at 9:45pm last night. Then after that it was all down hill. Up every hour to use the restroom, back to bed toss and turn. Oh, wait back up again it's time for the bathroom break again. Back to bed...nope the bed is NOT working off to the couch. From then on I was up every 2 hours using the restroom. It's like CLOCKWORK.
I had plans for breakfast with a friend this morning before work. So as Im driving down Elm Ave. I had to stride my jeep to go over a freshly run over ((looking no older than a 1 year old cat)) kitty cat. My heart was broken. I have a loving husband who tries to understand my big heart for animals. He usually tries to talk me through my crying so I will calm down. I saved him this phone call and called...my Mom. Thanks Mom I tried to not let it ruing my morning.
So needless to say I was whipped out from no sleep, emotional x10 b/c of a dead kitty and once again....no SLEEP!
I can hear all the mother's out there reading this: Jeanie, this is God's way of preparing you for the night's of no sleep to come. Ladies I promise I understand and have thought of this a long time ago. But this is the time where I should be sleeping BEFORE she comes into this world.

Any prayer for energy would be appreciated. Prayer to hold it together while I still have 36 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!! Ha, who's counting over here....ME!

Much love to you all.

Worth living in Roanoke.....

CHIPOLTE.......OPENS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought maybe I don't need to go to the grocery store for the week then I thought, WOAH.......it's going to be packed and I bet the line will be crazy the first week. Bummer. I might just have to send Steve out late at night to fix my craving's for 3 soft tacos filled with beans, cheese, lettuce OR a chicken and cheese quesadilla. Oh how I can't wait.

I highly recommend everyone go at least once. You will be hooked. I actually kept a menu from the last time I ate there. We were in Florida with Kate and Alan and ate there. This is NOT like Taco Bell or El Rodeo. It's a very popular place for people who are on a no carb diet OR even if your a vegetarian. What they are known for is customizing your own 'burrito bowl'. Their rice has cilantro in it, lot's of veggies to choose from. Different meats and of course....different SALSA options.

Check out their Menu!!!!
http://www.chipotle.com/en-US/menu/menu.aspx

On the other hand, pregnancy is going well. I will take a picture this week before my baby exercise class on Wednesday to show everyone my 35th week. I had many contractions last night that I actually started to count/time them. Eventually they tapered off. But lordy......I felt that pain.

Off to eat the casserole I made for Steve and I tonight. It's always good to have leftovers so Steve has lunch tomorrow. Mom, I made your chicken casserole, except I steam broccoli and add it to the chicken on the bottom...yum!!!

June Baby Shower

What a wonderful WONDERFUL time we had at the baby shower for Ellie. Dad captured a few photo's that I took off his blog to share with you. Ellie is blessed ALREADY with so many people who love her and have provided her with many gifts. I know the kids had a great time running around the church killing off some of that energy. It was also nice to see family that I get to see once a year. Thank you to everyone who came. We are truly blessed to have each of you in our lives.
We can't wait for her to come and y'all to meet her!!! Liz, as I'm writing this blog I am eating your yummy sausage balls. WONDERFUL!!!!

June Baby Time

Today I had a successful trip to Babies R Us. This was my first time going in by myself. Lot's of baby bumps everywhere. Dad came over and put together the changing table we got Ellie. We will leave this downstairs with the rocking chair in the living room so that I don't have to go up the stairs every time she has a diaper change. Once she is 4 months old or so we will let her sleep in the crib upstairs and not the bassinet anymore.

The last picture I can't help but smile every time I look at. It was a gift at the baby shower this weekend given to me by my sisters. It's a training potty but they put flowers in it to make it pretty/cute. It was a wonderful time to spend with family. Thanks for the yummy food everyone contributed as well. Things are coming together and we are very prepared for her arrival, whenever that may be =)

Facebooking no more.....

As of tomorrow morning, I will be getting rid of my account with facebook. I have kept all my pictures from my page. So this will be my main source of uploading pictures of our family and updating what's happening in our lives. So be sure to check back a few times a week. Once Ellie get's here, I can promise you I will be uploading all the time, catching her every moment.

So excited for the baby shower tomorrow with my family =) Thanks for everything you all have done to make tomorrow special for Ellie and I.
