Praying Hard

The past two Sundays at Church Alive we have been talking about Praying... Praying Hard. Here are some of my notes :

Greater prayer praying in tongues

*that same Holy Spirit that spoke to Paul speaks to me NOW and breaks the bible down for me to understand . AWESOME!!!

* if you are a control freak, you will struggle entering into this gift of tongues. {1 corn 14:4}
REASONS for people not speaking:
--the enemy has used down thru the centuries to push this gift away
--misuse and abuse of people doing this (speaking in tongues)
GOD GAVE US THIS GIft!!!

New View

The trim/doors are done, accent wall, new windows, new black shutters, (soon to be black front door) furniture has been moved around, new roman shades are up. This house is starting to feel fresh and new. Thanks to Dad, Steve and myself we have really changed this around.

Broken.

It's too late. Time ran out. Never again. It's gone. Goodbye. No more chances. It's a nightmare. Too soon. Too young. Full of life. Great smile. Kind heart. Good friend. Awesome client.
Broken. Crying. Confused. Anger. Distraught. Reflect. Hopeful. It's not enough to hope. You must know. Which way did He go?

I just got news early this morning that my friend,client,dentist has passed away. I am in shock. I have been friends with him for 9 years. His family feels close since day 1. They came to our wedding, baby shower, ate at their house, cut their kids hair for 9 years, watched them struggle and rejoice in their marriage. But now, it's done. I can't believe what I am typing.

Elvira

Got a sick kitty on our hands. Elvira is 9 years old and has kidney failure. We are not sure how much longer she has but within 3 months she has gone to the vet for fluids and this go round a horrible kidney infection on top of being dehydrated. Some cats I hear are 14 or even 21 when they pass but I think Elvira has a different path. Then again, she could last 2 more years.
I am not in the position to keep taking her to the ver weekly to get fluids and take her to the vet every few months for lots of iv's . This is just a high price to pay (especially with a kid and wanting to sell our house). So we will give her lots of TLC while she is still here and when she shows signs of pain/not eating/being by herself then that's when I will make the call.
Why does an animal hold such a special place. I believe it's because I care so much about life in general, that I believe EVERYTHING deserves a fighting chance.
To think of her non existence in my life would be sad, BUT I do have a husband and child that will fill it back up.
