We had a fall photo shoot today with Amy. This will be our last shoot since she is leaving Roanoke. But when we go to Myrtle beach in June she can take pictures of our family on the beach!! So it kinda works out :) we love her and her awesome work:)

Romans

Romans 12:11-12

Tonight I have read all of chapter 12. Read it with me. I believe it may have something special for you too!

To not be of this world seems hard at times. Easily are we occupied/distracted with our phones, friends, our jobs, stress, families and even our loved ones. But God has asked us to not become like the world, but to offer our bodies as a sacrifice to Him. So that we may better hear him and be transformed by Him. I may need to shut my phone off for more devotion time with him, not be so caught up in "facebook" land to catch up with my friends. Instead I may need to see them more face to face so we can connect on a higher level. It's hard to say that our families and loved ones can be distractions for us, but when I put my family before God, I know that's not right. Doesn't mean I don't love them, but I need to be a stronger more spiritual Mom for my family.

starting in verse 9 it talks about Christian living. It seems so understandable. It seems so easy and to the point. But why must it be hard at times to live as a Christian?

Then I realize "IT'S" not hard it just means I need to strengthen my relationship with God. Satan is very sneaky and when he gets a grip on you and your life, it is HARD to get rid of him. He is not easily shaken off if I give him control. God says: DON'T LET EVEIL DEFEAT YOU, but defeat EVIL with GOOD. Never give up he says. Eagerly follow the Lord.

When I write like this it may not make sense to you. It may seem that I am all over the place but I think God knows what I am trying to get off my heart. I feel as if He is speaking to me in many directions. Thanks for following. ;)

Matthew 18:20

There will be more than 2 or 3 gathered together today under God. We are all here together under Gods blessing to Staci. I could not be more happy than to be here now. So thankful I had the opportunity to be here for Staci and with her family. We have been friends since we were 14. I believe she and I will be friends forever. I slept beside my single friend for the last time last night. Today I woke up to a future Mrs. How cool did that feel. :) I will be posting pictures ALL DAY LONG as the day unfolds. I do believe Staci got a "Virginia" looking wedding out here is hot, sunny Arizona. Pray for a cooler temperature or slight breeze around 6:00 ;)

Made my connecting flight in Atlanta but didn't get time to stop for food. Boo. Guess I will pay $7.00 for a bag o nuts and some crackers. HAHAHA! I miss my family already. There are some YOUNG babies on this flight and one girl was Ellie's age. Made my heart hurt. I need to watch the video while I'm waiting for take off. Prayers appreciated. I get nervous pee.

"When I am weak, then I am strong"

2 Corinthians 12:10

            God's idea of strength and man's idea of strength are opposite one another.

            The Lord told Paul, "My strength is made perfect in weakness"  (2 Dor. 12:9).  Having learned this lesson, Paul could then say, "When I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Cor. 12:10).  A paradox?  Not really.  Only when Paul admitted his own weakness and was willing to get out of the way, could God take over and work.

            If we try to do God's will in our own strength, then we can take the credit for whatever gets accomplished.  But that isn't God's way! When we let His strength work through us, then He alone will get the glory--and that is as it should be.

Philippians 4

So I read this chapter tonight for my devotion. I love Paul! I really feel a connection when he talks. In this chapter Paul is encouraging Jesus' followers. I went back and read chapter 3 to catch up a little too. Paul says: be GLAD. Be glad because of the Lord. Don't worry about anything, but be in prayer about everything. Since we belong to Jesus, He will give us a peace that NO ONE can understand, but will help control how we feel. Keep our minds pure, holy and true.

Philippians 3:7-11 is wonderful as well.

Wrapping things up

Tomorrow is our last day for the beach. We will be leaving Saturday by 11:00am. Plans tomorrow include: beach time, pool time, Putt putt, kite flying, sushi, family photo session (as long as everyone is in a good mood).

It's been raining since about 5:00 this evening. A long thunder and lightening storm has been taking over the sky. Sad to say goodbye on Saturday but excited to come back to HOME.
