Praying Hard

The past two Sundays at Church Alive we have been talking about Praying... Praying Hard. Here are some of my notes :

Greater prayer praying in tongues

*john 14 15 16 = Paul correcting speaking in tongues that's is OK TO DO
*that same Holy Spirit that spoke to Paul speaks to me NOW and breaks the bible down for me to understand . AWESOME!!!

*paul would not have written this had it been from the devil
* 1 corn 14:4
*1 corn 12. 9 different gifts listed
* if you are a control freak, you will struggle entering into this gift of tongues. {1 corn 14:4}
REASONS for people not speaking:
--the enemy has used down thru the centuries to push this gift away
--misuse and abuse of people doing this (speaking in tongues)
GOD GAVE US THIS GIft!!!

*It's going to cost you something in your life
*we have been taught formulas and quick answers then we become satisfied with a little answer
*history can be altered by your prayers
* sometimes the bigger things we ask God about take longer, it may NOT be a quick fix
* prayer is a form of dreaming, dreaming is a form of prayer
*persistence will require you to take a stand, it's not just to survive.

New View

The trim/doors are done, accent wall, new windows, new black shutters, (soon to be black front door) furniture has been moved around, new roman shades are up. This house is starting to feel fresh and new. Thanks to Dad, Steve and myself we have really changed this around.

Broken.

It's too late. Time ran out. Never again. It's gone. Goodbye. No more chances. It's a nightmare. Too soon. Too young. Full of life. Great smile. Kind heart. Good friend. Awesome client.
Broken. Crying. Confused. Anger. Distraught. Reflect. Hopeful. It's not enough to hope. You must know. Which way did He go?

I just got news early this morning that my friend,client,dentist has passed away. I am in shock. I have been friends with him for 9 years. His family feels close since day 1. They came to our wedding, baby shower, ate at their house, cut their kids hair for 9 years, watched them struggle and rejoice in their marriage. But now, it's done. I can't believe what I am typing.
