I had no gain not loss this week. I have to know that's OK! It's better than gaining. But what is weird to me, is that yesterday I was at a 2pd loss. I know Saturday weigh ins don't count but what happened to that 2 pd loss? Working out 4 times this week and keeping under my points. Oh well. The good side is: I have stayed with an eating program for a full 7 weeks and lost a total of 10pds. Not stopping this
train.
Also, Ellie is doing much better. She just has a crazy deep cough and sorta has a runny nose. Good news: she has 1 more tooth left to pop thru and she will be done for a little while. She just got her top 2 canines 2 days ago. They are so cute to look at:)
Your journey here is a great example of looking at the big picture versus focusing on a small part of it.
ReplyDeleteIn many of life's endeavors our progress often seems painfully slow, nonexistantent, or even regressive. But then we step back and look at where we've been, and we're able to say, "Hey, you've come a long way, Baby...."
The secret to success is found in not giving up: We try and fail; we move forward and slide back, we work and we stop awhile to rest and think, but we don't give up when our objective is worthy of our effort.
Perseverance is an indespensable component of every successful endeavor. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, supposedly said that success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
The next time you turn on a light bulb, look at that small, glowing filament that gives off the light. That's Edison's contribution. He tried over 6,000 different materials over a 2 year period before finding one that worked. Someone asked him how he had been able to continue on in the midst of so many failures. He replied that those had not been failures but successes, because every non-working experiment brought him closer to finding the material that WOULD work.
If Edison had not persevered you might be reading this in the dark. WORK at it.
